I am an autodidact painter. I learn thanks to many books that have inspired me but also thanks to the advices from my fellow painters, and, of course and foremost, by practicing and working constantly on my skills especially drawing.
I like to explore new places in order to find subjects that inspires me. Then, I start with graphite drawing to find the most interesting composition, taking notes in my sketchbook and doing usually a study in watercolor to study the lights and shadows and all other important features that determine the outcome of the picture.
My favourite painting media are mostly oil paint (for its vibrant colors), gouache paint and aquarelle (which to me allows for more spontaneity). Beside being inspired by the great masters of paintings (John Singer Sargent, Diego Velázquez, Rembrandt van Rijn), I am particularly admirer of many past artists from the 19th century such as Lucien Simon, Eugène Boudin, Charles-Francois Daubigny, Jules Achilles Noël, Hans von Bartels, Jean-Baptiste Camille Corot, and many others.
