Jacques COQUILLAY
Official Painter of the Navy

Pastel artist and sculptor Jacques Coquillay was born June 3, 1935. He entered the Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Tours section sculpture.En 1958, he obtained the National Diploma in Sculpture. He is a student at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris in the atelier of Marcel Gimond. In 1960, he obtained the Higher Diploma Art Plastic 30-09-2009 (cum laude). On the death of Gimond he entered the workshop of Hubert Yencesse and Raymond Corbin. In 1961, he entered the contest Rome - Logistics. Jury Prize at Rome, he met Jean Carton, Raymond Martin Hilbert and George with whom he befriends. It is a group of young sculptor, assisted by Belmondo and directed several group exhibitions. In 1972 he made the acquaintance of Dunoyer de Segonzac, who encouraged him and bought his first bronzes. In 1983, he was elected Vice - President of French Artists. Retrospective of the work of Coquillay the Salon d'Automne in 1992. Jehan Price of Red Vines, Academy of Versailles in 1993. Appointed Painter of the Navy in 1995.

"Our Lady of the Oak" (Church of Viroflay), "Marianne" for Mary Viroflay and the "Bust of Hippolytus Maze", "Little girl with a sheep" at City Hall Tarverny, Monument of Remembrance the Prefecture of Yvelines.
Monumental sculpture for a fountain outside the station in Angers "Birth of Venus" and "vagrancy" in Braissac.
"Marianne" for Mary Dessessart (in the guise of Catherine Deneuve), "The apple of love" for the fountain of the Place de l'Hotel de Ville in Marmande.
Monumental sculpture for the fountain of CES Rambouillet "The Wave" (1990), to the Priory Gardens in Le Bourget-du-Lac "Vagrancy" (1991) for the City of Sevres "The Shawl" (1992), for courtyard of City Hall Dessessart Youth and Mulhouse "Elegant" (1993).
